In doing some Knowledge Management related work, I came across this article - "The Other Knowledge". The author , John David Balla, talks about the the knowledge present in the unconscious mind. He quotes some experiences he had during his recent visit to Peru - meeting with several shamans of the Quero nation, the direct descendants of the Inka. He says that they cured a lady from USA of terminal lung cancer, by using some herbs etc. The shaman said that "The plant told me what herbs to use and mix". And another experience in his words:

The most profound, first-hand example of receiving knowledge without learning it, also known as 'precognition," occurred while I was working with another shaman in the Peruvian Andes, don Humberto. After days of observing his healing sessions, and after much Q&A, I began to realize that what he referred to as an "imprint," something he could see deep inside the patient's body for which all diseases originated, was actually a person's DNA! Even more amazing was his indifference to what the person was suffering from. In fact, he often didn't ask the patient what was wrong. He would see a dense demarcation in the imprint and then repair it, with seemingly little more than his mind.

During early morning dreamy state, some of the dreams I have are quite deep technical discussions or some creative thinking. Unfortunately it is quite difficult to remember it in full. I know for sure that the contents of the dream are indeed much deeper than everyday thinking. To become creative in daily life is to let go of structured thinking ...
